Family Christmas
If your family is like mine, it gets harder and harder to get everyone in the same place at the same time let alone try to plan a family photo shoot! Well this year, I managed to make it happen and I just love that I will have these portraits forever marking this moment in time! I’d like to share a little bit about my family with you! I have 3 kids, 17, 20, and 23. Our son, a senior at Purdue University is engaged and will be moving to Texas next August to start his career with Exxon Mobile as a chemical engineer! His beautiful fiance of course is in our pictures and already part of our family as far as we’re concerned! My 20 year old daughter is headed to Barcelona to study abroad next semester, and I have a senior in high school who will be graduating in May. But…that’s only 4 and there are five in the pictures, right? Well, we have the tremendous privilege this year to add one more to our family! Alina is an exchange student from Berlin Germany who is living with us until June! She is also considered a senior in high school while she is here so I actually have 2 high school seniors! What fun we have been having hosting an exchange student and forging a new friendship that will last a lifetime!
The new year will bring lots of celebrations with 3 graduating and our daughter returning from her study abroad. I’m sure there will be tears when we bid farewell to Alina in June when she returns to Berlin. And I’m sure a few more as our oldest relocates to Texas and I move my youngest to college. But that’s how life goes! We live, we love, we do our best to embrace each new season! That’s why I love being a photographer SO much! To capture these moments, right here, right now…that fuels my soul! I love each person in these images so much! Prints of these will adorn my walls and mantle because I want to remember us just like we are right now. And I know that these images and memories will long outlive me! My kids may have rolled their eyes at me when I told them we were having a family portrait session, but I know they love and will always love having these images of our family…Us.
